Founded in 1886, Calvary Cemetery has served Catholic families in the Diocese of Toledo for nearly 140 years. Located on 140 acres of beautiful rolling land in the heart of Toledo, Calvary is the largest Catholic cemetery in the city by number of interments, with more than 106,000 faithful departed laid to rest within its consecrated grounds.
Established as the burial place for Catholics from every parish in Toledo, Calvary remains a place where generations of families have entrusted their loved ones to Christian burial. Its peaceful landscape, winding roads, mature trees, and sacred monuments offer a beautiful setting for prayer, remembrance, and reflection while witnessing to our hope in the Resurrection.

A Rich Catholic Heritage
For generations, Calvary Cemetery has served as the final resting place for priests, bishops, religious sisters, veterans, civic leaders, and thousands of Catholic families throughout Northwest Ohio.
The cemetery is home to the Rotunda Mausoleum, featuring more than 800 crypts and a chapel that seats 200 people for funeral liturgies and prayer services. Throughout the grounds are personal and family mausoleums, dedicated sections for infants and veterans, and the Veterans Memorial, completed in 1999.
Visitors will also find sections dedicated to the Little Sisters of the Poor, the Ursuline Sisters, the Sisters of Notre Dame, and the deceased bishops of the Diocese of Toledo. Among Calvary's many landmarks are a 28-foot family monument in Section 7 and a shrine in Section 9 honoring the many priests and bishops buried nearby.
